The Costa Cálida encompases the coastline of Murcia and half of the Almeria coastline on the lower western coast of Spain. This area probably has the most even and warm temperature in the mediterranean.

The Murcia region is popular with Spanish holidaymakers and until recently stayed undiscovered by foreign buyers. Now several golf courses and low-rise housing developments are being built. The area is surprisingly green and lush.

Murcia town itself is fantastic and offers a whole feast of restaurants and culture. However, much of the area is a national park, which prevents further building. Other factors include the growth of low-cost airlines to Murcia’s San Javier airport, and the new coastal motorway, cutting the journey time from Alicante to an hour.

The Costa Calida offers some of the best value property in Spain. The weather is warmer, homes are cheaper and you can swim in the sea year-round.
